Natural reservations - Turda Gorges, Tureni Gorges, Borzesti Gorges

At the entrance to Turda, you see the immense natural monument carved in rock by the Hasdate River, Turda Gorge.
Turda Gorge is situated less than 10km from the city and is a complex natural reserve that has been protected since 1938.

Here you can find approximately 1000 species of plants and animals, many of which are rare.
The relief is formed from Jurassic limestone came lofty peaks, caves, sinkholes and vertical walls (over 250m high in the “middle of the gorge”.

The caves are from the oldest period (5th century BCE, the daco-roman period), the motive for which they created famous personalities in the zone (Balica, Anton) and they gave birth to beautiful legends.

From Turda Gorge you can find trails to Turen Gorge, Hasdate Ravine to the Ciucas waterfalls, to the Borzesti Waterfalls and Gorge and a number of trails in the area directly surround Turda Gorge.
