Monument and Memorial to Mihai Viteazu

Mihai Viteazu (Michael the Brave) was the first Romanian ruler who united, for the first tie, Moldova, Muntenia and Ardeal in 1600.

He was killed near Turda on 19 August 1601 under the orders of the Hapsburg Empire and was buried there.

The monument to Mihai Viteazu has a height of 1601cm and was inaugurated in 1977.

Near the monument is found, in construction, the monastery Mihai Voda, a copy of a church built in Bucharest for Mihai Viteazu.
